To tell you honestly, I literally cried when I was reading this. Specifically the part where Gabriella's dad found her in her room unconscious surrounded by her pool of blood. I couldn't control my tears any longer, so I just let it shed.

This is my second book from Danielle Steel, the first one was Star, which was for me, a little unrealistic. Though even this book is, but I appreciate this better than Star. There's still a lot of repetition, certain phrases that Steel seems to love. The description of Gabriella's looks isn't as over the top as some of her other books, in fact, a bit more description of most of the main characters would actually have helped. It doesn't just skim through like a story told, it's deep and long and solid.
Argentine journalist Hernan Casciari's story 'Lionel's suitcase', set for magazine publication, told stories from Messi's early days at Barcelona, as well as his brief exit from the national team in 2016. Always embarrassed to admit having read a Danielle Steel book, this is the first of hers that I ever picked up. The story grabs you in an 'Oh my God I cant believe this is happening, how awful! ' kind of way but after the first half of the book it tends to become somewhat mismatched and I found myself feeling that I have been sad with this book long enough and wanted it to just finish. The relationship between Gabriella and the nuns of the convent is lovely and I enjoyed the slight exploration of religion. The heroine is easy to like and her naivety is completely believable.
Aguero is forced to make a choice that scars his platoon for the rest of their lives. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. It took me longer to read it than my usual time, but it was well worth it.
Gabriella is labelled 'strong' in this book because she overcame all the obstacles but I personally feel that it made her character weak & pathetic when she allowed people to kick her around. And then it ends with a happily ever after with Prince Charming. I've never read anything else by Danielle Steele, might have seen a movie or two, but she comes out with the big guns. Maybe I'll sit down one afternoon with another book, when I want to run the emotional gamut.
It is a depressing issue that Ms. Steele tackles here so I wouldnt recommend it as a holiday read. Maybe when there is a storm outside and you are feeling pensive. This Danielle Steel novel was good but heart wrenching to read.
