Lionel Messi 'was moved to TEARS by radio story of his long road to Argentina's World Cup glory'

By the end of Chapter 2 I was ready to slap some freaking good sense in Gabriella's father John Harrison and force him to not remain complicit as he witnessed the devastating and deadly child abuse his wife inflicted mercilessly onto his daughter. Eloise Harrison's outright cruelty left numerous bruises on Gabriella's fragile little body and her severe beatings broke some of Gabby's ribs which Eloise could give a flying flip about. This book had me in tears from the first chapter straight to the last and final one. Tears of sadness and anger at first but then tears of joy as young Gabriella finally began to find her happiness and let go of all the pain, anger and self blame that she struggled with for years. It's a story of hope, love and faith and one that will truly stay with me for a long long time. My emotional stability was put to test with this book.

Casualties mount in the rear of the LMTV, as Denomy tries yet again to rescue the stranded platoon. For Young, this moment marks the beginning of a lifelong struggle, with far-reaching consequences, through which he’ll touch countless lives.

Gabriella is labelled 'strong' in this book because she overcame all the obstacles but I personally feel that it made her character weak & pathetic when she allowed people to kick her around. And then it ends with a happily ever after with Prince Charming. I've never read anything else by Danielle Steele, might have seen a movie or two, but she comes out with the big guns. Maybe I'll sit down one afternoon with another book, when I want to run the emotional gamut.

Telling of a life, letting you live that life with her. Details of abuse, aftermath, darkness, and the hard journey to the other end to the light. I think I might have cried, shuttered, and sat in stone-faced silence through this piece of work. I can't be sure anymore; But I am going to pick it back up soon.

This is my second book from Danielle Steel, the first one was Star, which was for me, a little unrealistic. Though even this book is, but I appreciate this better than Star. There's still a lot of repetition, certain phrases that Steel seems to love. The description of Gabriella's looks isn't as over the top as some of her other books, in fact, a bit more description of most of the main characters would actually have helped. It doesn't just skim through like a story told, it's deep and long and solid.

Maybe I'll sit down one afternoon with another book, when I want to run the emotional gamut.

It is a depressing issue that Ms. Steele tackles here so I wouldnt recommend it as a holiday read. Maybe when there is a storm outside and you are feeling pensive. This Danielle Steel novel was good but heart wrenching to read.

50 Easy Home Upgrades That Add Serious Value to Your Space

If you're looking for a quick way to change the look of your room, hanging a new light fixture is your best bet. A well-made light fixture looks better, lasts longer, and gives clearer light, so inspect your fixture's construction the way you would a piece of furniture. It's even easier to add a new light fixture into ceilings connected to attic space, says Daryl Berg, a journeyman electrician in Longview, Washington.

Most plant nurseries are happy to provide exact guidance on the perfect kind of tree for the space. Bring a picture of your yard, and during a weekday so the arborist has time to answer your questions and ask about coupons or offers that apply to your selected trees. Instead of tackling a full fence replacement, identify the individual rails and posts that need to be replaced.

Install some outdoor lighting.

Sunlight streaming through windows can be an annoying distraction. Not to mention the neighbors who have more evening hours to look into your brightly lit living room. You could install shades to foil prying eyes, but swinging wood shutters would definitely be more beautiful. Indoor plants are pretty, but they can also collect and foster the growth of mold.

While the exact number of steps you should be aiming for each day varies per person, a goal of 10,000 steps a day is a good rule of thumb to improve physical health. Focusing on boosting your step count comes with a plethora of benefits like better heart health, more stable blood sugar and even improved cognitive abilities. Try incorporating more short bursts of walking into your day by taking the stairs, walking instead of Ubering, or turning your meetings into walks with co-workers.

Repainting a room or a home interior is a simple, easy way to dramatically change the feel and color of a room dramatically. Change it to a light color or go for maximum lightness with a full white-wash of the walls and ceiling. Go for a thick, warm rich paint over to a room to give it a transformation where to curl up with a good book. Color has a dramatic feel and change to it when a room is redone, and the cost is minimal. The greatest resource one has to expend is just the time it takes to do the work. Your cavelike kitchen feels that way because the dark cabinets have sucked all the light out of the room.

Tip 2 – Think about Getting an Energy Audit

But what happens when you’re on a super tight budget and your priority is to increase your home’s future sales value? A cheery front-door color and a touch of landscaping can do wonders for your home's curb appeal and make a lasting impression on guests. Dress the door with new hardware, and add potted plants near the entrance. Consider installing outdoor lighting to enhance your home's architecture and illuminate the walkway. Replace your worn-out welcome mat with a bold statement mat to create a warm and welcoming ambiance for your home. While some plants are touted as helping to improve indoor air quality because they release oxygen, they are still allergy triggers for many people.

To maximize the value of your home for a sale, choose a neutral color scheme that unifies the entire house, makes space look more prominent, and appeals to a wide variety of potential buyers. The three basic strategies to improve indoor air quality are source control, ventilation, and supplement air cleaning/filtration, Gillespie says. Better yet, according to NAR data, repainting had one of the highest joy scores for any home project. Renovating your home is more than just an expensive process—it's a time-consuming one, as well. In a similar vein, think about whether installing LED lighting, enhanced insulation, and double-pane windows will help you cut energy costs. Installing updated window treatments is a great way to show off your room.

DIY project: stage an outdoor entertaining area

When it’s time to select a color, choose a neutral shade dark enough to hide dirt—buyers love low-maintenance homes. You can visualize the final design before you commit with Karndean Designflooring’s AR app which lets you superimpose flooring over your own living room. Once you’ve cleaned and decluttered, rent a carpet cleaner to remove stains and buildup on the floors; you can rent one all day for $30 from Home Depot or Lowes.

Going hand in hand, decluttering costs an average of $486, adding $2,584 in value (432% ROI). Before you start reorganizing any part of your home, be sure to clear the area first and assess your possessions. So, if you're decluttering your closet, take all—and we meanall—of your clothes out and put them in a pile on your bed. If you're making space in your kitchen cabinets, take out all of the plates and glasses and line them up on a counter.

You’d be surprised what people buy and pay for, and you no longer have to worry about what else do with the times. Having sufficient place to move things out of the way is key to enjoying your home inside. Unfortunately, storage typically just involves closets and standard cabinets.

If you don’t, you should consider hiring a professional to do the installation for you, to make sure your project is up to code and is not a safety hazard. Expect to pay around $360 for one recessed light plus installation. When it comes to actual projects that involve improvements, Hill says he would spend his money on a combination of the following.

If you have a forced-air heating system, be certain to change the filters regularly, says Dr. BuSaba. Electrostatic filters can help ensure that dust and other airborne irritants get trapped instead of being recirculated throughout your home. Reduce indoor allergens that can trigger respiratory problems and other issues.

Ask any real estate agent or designer, and they'll tell you that those cheap home supply store light fixtures won't earn you a major payday when you go to sell your house. Upgrade your lighting, however, and you'll be upgrading that check from a potential buyer, too. "Lighting fixtures, like hardware, are the jewelry of your house." You could buy all new cabinets and save money by purchasing prefabricated cabinets and installing them yourself, but that’s more work and money than painting or staining your existing cabinets.

To quickly and easily rehabilitate your existing fireplace, a gas or wood-burning insert adds energy efficiency to your home without tearing apart your hearth and mantel. Equipping your fireplace with glass doors blocks heated and cooled air from escaping and amplifies the fire's heat, which in turn reduces energy costs. Closing the damper when the fireplace is not in use will help keep cold out of your home and add to heating efficiency. Having your fireplace and chimney professionally cleaned will also improve fireplace efficiency.
